Current happenings in the world of DNA and genealogy

First, now is the time to order a DNA test from It's $79 through July 4th.

Second, and are both offering new ways to combine DNA results with genealogy. The Geni system is designed to work with Family Tree DNA Family Finder, Y-DNA and mtDNA test results, a unique approach, although Wikitree offers something similar... and for FREE. MyHeritage is accepting DNA uploads but hasn't launched its matching service yet. I'm sure that will come soon. One shortcoming, at least for now, is that they will deal only with autosomal DNA, not Y-DNA and mtDNA..
