Working with DNA results

If you're still befuddled by DNA and how it can help your genealogical research, I highly recommend a truly useful book that has just been published:  Genetic Genealogy in Practice, a workbook with exercises to work through real genealogical problems using the various techniques for analyzing DNA test results.  The authors are highly esteemed genetic genealogists, Blaine Bettinger and Debbie Parker Wayne.

If you missed the sale....

It looks like Family Tree DNA is now selling its Family Finder test for $79. Compare that to Ancestry $99 and to 23andMe $199.  FTDNA continues its reputation as the leader in DNA testing for genealogy. Remember, it is the only company that also offers Y-DNA, mtDNA, BigY and other tests, along with the analytical tools to use them, an ever-growing database, and the promise of ever-improving tools. It is certainly this genetic genealogist's company of choice.
